EU STR Registration Helper

From 20 May 2026, EU Regulation 2024/1028 requires every short-term-rental host to obtain and display a registration number. The portals are scattered across dozens of national, regional and municipal systems. Pick your country to get the correct official portal, a plain checklist, and a format check for your number — all in your browser.

Find your portal & check your number

We cover the five largest EU short-term-rental markets: Italy, France, Spain, the Netherlands and Portugal.
Checked entirely in your browser. We never see or store it.
Runs entirely in your browser. Your number is never uploaded — the format check is plain JavaScript on your device. We only keep anonymous, cookie-free counts of how often the tool is used. A format check is not proof of registration: always confirm on the official portal or registry.

Why we built this

EU Regulation 2024/1028 harmonises the data short-term-rental platforms must share, but it does not create one EU portal. Hosts still register through their own country's system — and those systems are fragmented: Italy runs a single national CIN portal, Portugal a single Balcão Único, the Netherlands a shared portal that only some municipalities use, while France files with your commune and Spain with your autonomous community (its national single registry was struck down by the courts in May 2026).

So the first real problem a host has is simply "where do I even register, and what does a valid number look like?" This tool answers exactly that, per jurisdiction, with every portal link and format rule sourced from the official authority. Where a rule is not officially published, we say so rather than guess — a wrong "valid" verdict would be worse than nothing.

This is an informational helper, not legal advice. Rules change; always confirm on the official portal. We are not affiliated with any government authority.
